  I have been following the development of Smithereen for years and I am quite excited to see it finally getting to a place where its ready for public use. The amount of work Grishka has put into this piece of software is pretty amazing.

  I’ve been runnning my Smithereen instance for more than a year now and honestly it’s such a well-built piece of software that you rarely find these days. Even some more established and widely recognized projects like Pixelfed feel quite rough in comparison, and this is no exaggeration.

  There are some features lacking, like you cannot attach videos or audios to your posts, but I’m willing to be patient here. It’s being developed by a single person after all.

  So I really encourage everyone to give it a try.
